One of the major struggles I've heard couples talk about when it comes to wedding planning is knowing all their options when it comes to wedding venues! There are so SO many, listed in so many different places — and then on top of that, there are other options that don't necessarily market themselves as wedding venues, but still allow weddings... It can be so frustrating trying so sort through everything during the already hectic engagement season. In an attempt to help out a bit, this blog is intended as a comprehensive guide to ALL the wedding venues in and around Gadsden, Alabama. If I've missed one, please reach out to me and let me know so I can get it added!

one / Have a Vision

Your wedding venue is the foundation that your wedding day's look and feel will be based on! As you brainstorm venues, get clear on the vision you have for your wedding day. Is it a candlelit ceremony under the stars?  An elegant reception at a historical home like the Lumpkin House? A summer day at the Noccalula Botanical Gardens, filled with sunshine and bright florals? Get on pinterest and find inspo, talk with your partner about their thoughts and ideas, and give yourself the freedom to explore a variety of different ideas.

two / Budget and Prioritize

Before you get too far into your venue search, you'll want to make sure you're on the same page about how much money you want and have to spend on your wedding day, and where you want it to go towards. Do research on realistic wedding costs in your area (Gadsden will have different costs than Albertville, Anniston or Birmingham) spend time talking with friends and family about what they prioritized and what they would prioritize if they could do it again, and have a general plan for what you want to spend in each area of your wedding.

three / Guest List

Who do you want around you on your wedding day? Your list of non-negotiable wedding guests is an important part of choosing your wedding venue. Whether you're envisioning an intimate evening with just your closest friends and family, or an all-out party with everyone you love, you'll need an idea of numbers as you're doing your research. Spend time thinking about who you want around you while you get ready, your ideal ceremony space (and it's max capacity), and even how you'll want your tables set up at the reception.

four / Planner

An experienced local wedding planner is the secret to making your dream day a reality. They'll know the best venues and vendors to work with, have practice flipping a ceremony site into a reception, keep up with all the emails and contracts you'll be needing, and have the perfect backup plan if something goes crazy with the weather. (You know how Gadsden gets in the spring!) I highly (highly!) recommend hiring someone to handle the bulk of the wedding planning, if you want to actually be able to enjoy the wedding.

five / Idea of Wedding Date

Until you have your wedding venue officially booked, you don't have a wedding date — you don't have anywhere to get married! Work with your partner, your planner, and any essential guests to find your ideal wedding date, as well as a couple of backup dates in case your dream venue isn't available on that day. If you aren't particular about a specific date, start with a season and go from there.

GADSDEN WEDDING VENUES: QUICK GUIDE

Below is a favorite blog post that will help you quickly explore some of the wedding venue options you have available to you in and around Gadsden! It goes over my "photographer's picks" — my very favorite venues in Central Alabama, as a wedding photographer, and includes photos of most of them, as well as links to their websites.

I have had quite a few couples tell me how hard it is to find a wedding venue. Upon doing some research myself, I realized that part of the problem is that no one has compiled a list of EVERY wedding venue in the area! So as well as the post above, below you'll find a very long list of places to get married in and around Gadsden.

Because this list is comprehensive, it can be a bit overwhelming!

That's why I'm highly recommending checking out the curated list of the best wedding venues near Gadsden first. If you don't find the right one there, hopefully the following list will flesh out the rest of your options!

With that said: from waterfront venues along the Coosa River to historic mansions, romantic gardens, and unique museum venues perfect for your wedding ceremony and reception, here are ALL the local wedding venues in and around Gadsden, Alabama!

MEET SARAH

Gadsden, Alabama Wedding Photographer

Wedding and engagement photographer Sarah Mismash pictured with her husband mason in gadsden, alabama

Based in Gadsden (but photographing weddings and engagements from Birmingham to Huntsville!) I go into every wedding day with the knowledge that your wedding photos are some of the only photos that stick around generationally — they are a critical part of the story your family will learn about you! I consider it’s my responsibility and privilege to help tell that story honestly and elegantly.

You should probably know: I will cry during your dad's speech. I will be getting down on the dance floor with your guests. I'll help you plan intentional time with your partner and closest friends and family on your wedding day — and step back so that you can experience those core memories without interruption. I'll guide you through portraits and wedding prep, work closely with your other vendors to make the magic happen, and capture every moment of your wedding day in all its glory.

If that's the kind of wedding photographer you're looking for...

You're in the right place.
